AWANA Quizzing

Beginning in September 2012, our kids have had their first opportunity to participate in AWANA. We walk them over to the church just behind our house each Wednesday night and they thoroughly enjoy it! We practice at home all week, memorizing scripture and learning all about God's Word. What a gift to know our kiddos enjoy hiding God's Word in their hearts. We pray they recall these verses in times of celebration and times of great need, as they grow. We pray they'll be bold witnesses as well, and live all their days in Christ's freedom, mercy and grace, loving others as He loves them.
This weekend, Alex had an opportunity to participate in an AWANA Bible Quizzing Competition in Pueblo, CO. He competed individually and as part of a team of 3 boys. We signed a waiver and allowed him to exercise some independence, ridin the church bus to and fro, while we stayed in the Springs and attended a church planting learning intensive. His team came in 3rd place and he arrived home at 10:30pm, beaming and carrying his prize ribbon! We are proud and so is he!

We are so proud of you, Alexander. Your hard work paid off as you won your large ribbon. Better yet, you have God's word hidden in your heart. Never forget your scriptures you have already memorized, and keep on learning even more. You never know when you will meet someone who doesn't know Jesus. You can share some of the verses with him and encourage him to join you at church and Awana, too. I love you, Mimi
