School Is Underway! HOORAY!!!

Who can believe that my babies are in Kindergarten and 3rd grade this year?!?! Time sure flies when you are having fun!!!

I ordered these shirts for GREAT prices from Lolly Wolly Doodle on facebook.
Aren't they cute? The kiddos are pretty cute, too, if I do say so myself!!!

Reagan just turned 4 1/2, but completed K4 curriculum successfully at home last year, so we thought it best to keep her moving. She is reading so well, mostly self-taught I believe. We will concentrate mostly on Bible lessons, handwriting and early math skills. She loves school and asks for more work at the end every day. Sure makes my job easy!!!

My baby boy is getting SO tall and starting to look EIGHT! YIKES!!!!
3rd grade is challenging, but in a good way. He is memorizing Hebrews 11...will know the entire chapter by heart by the end of 3rd grade. There are multiplication facts, cursive writing, individual subject tests...and lots of fun new experiences, too! He is liking it so far!!!

We complete our most serious work in our school room at our farm table.

I am teaching the same Science and History curriculum to both kiddos...working well so far.

They especially enjoy the "projects". Here we are in History, creating an animal from playdoh and naming our animals the way God allowed Adam to. Evidently, this is funny stuff!!!

How is that face for concentration?!?!
This is Alexander completing a science experiment about flight.
Our Science curriculum is so great...Fulbright is the author. Last year, he completed her astronomy study with his homeschool co op class. This year, we are using her Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day of Creation books at home. The kids are really into her style and it is Bible based! Who could ask for anything more?!?!

We are off to a great start...here's praying for an unforgettable school year!!!

July in Photos...

Life is at a hectic pace here! Full of great things, but full!
Looks like I am now more of a month by month blogger, than event by event. That's ok with me, simply because I am trying to focus on eternal matters, at home and all around me! But I do want memories to look back on and I know folks wanna see lots of pics, so the blog will never totally go away!!! :)

In July, we were able to spend a fun few days in Huntsville, celebrating Alex and Ellie's 8th birthdays! We celebrated first at a Mexican restaurant, always the best song and dessert!

Group pic...Noni and all 4 of her grands! They wanted to be SILLY! Imagine that!

Ellie and Alex wearing birthday dessert well! HAHAHA

Two curly girlies!!!

We continued our celebration Saturday at Build A Bear. This was a first for our kiddos...dream come true for my stuffed animal lovers!
Thank you, Aunt Carla and Uncle Mark!!!

Here we are having a heart ceremony. Cheesy but the kids loved it!

We swam for a long while Saturday...Reagan has become a FISH, swimming all afternoon with no floaties!!! YIPPEE!!!

Mid-July, the time came to release our butterflies. Bittersweet!
We will definitely order more caterpillars...this was such an amazing experience!

We have also continued to fish as a family. We are getting better and better, even cooking and eating our prize catches more often. Very relaxing and fun for all!!!

August promises more action and excitement! Stay tuned...
