PJ Day

Today is PJ Day around here. We are having a full school day and playing grocery store, but not getting dressed until after lunch.
We have been going, going, going this week and our big youth discipleship weekend starts tonight, so I am choosing restful productiveness this morning. Sounds and feels GREAT and the kids think it is a BIG deal!
Join us in praying, with great expectancy, about this weekend!

Germ Invasion

Both kids are sick. Reagan is on day 4 of liquid steroids and nebulizer treatments every four hours, for croup complicated by asthma. Alex is rarely sick or complaining, but spent this morning moaning in discomfort in his throat and tummy. He finally vomited a few times and perked up a good bit. We are snuggling in now, ready to see Babe for the first time and rest a while. Praying germs aren't the theme of 2012...we have much worship and fun planned to stay down long!

Back to School

We are back in school, 1/2 days yesterday thru Friday, full schedule next week, because we only took one week off for Christmas. I have to say, the first semester flew by! Having two in school, in very different grades, was a huge adjustment. We have settled in well and I am excited to be back on a routine. The kids will continue participating in our homeschool co op group every Tuesday, where Alex enjoys PE and Answers in Genesis for Kids and Reagan enjoys Five In a Row curriculum with other preschoolers. We have some field trips planned with them, too. Both kids will also continue taking art locally each week. I enjoy one on one time with them while the other is in art for an hour. Alex is starting piano lessons in Tuscaloosa next week and Reagan is excited to participate in Kindermusik again after a semester off. Fun times, but it all goes by too quickly. One of my goals of 2012 is to live in the moment better and savor all of my time with my kids!!!

2012 Letter

Dear Alex and Reagan,
As the new year starts, my mind and heart spin with goals...personal and family!
May each calendar year find us more like Christ!! I love both of you so much that I can't imagine God loving you more, but He does! His love is unconditional, unwavering, 100% at all times. I pray you will both know His grace forgiveness and live in the freedom He gives. His plan for you is unfolding daily and it fills my heart with GREAT joy!
A fairly new song by The Sidewalk Prophets gives my goals for you for 2012 words...May you both "Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope. You're gonna do great things, I already know. God's got His hand on you so don't live life in fear. Forgive and forget but don't forget why you're here. Take your time and pray. Thank God for each day. These are the words I would say, from one simple life to another."
Your Daddy has inspired me, leading me spiritually. I am going to read thru the Bible this year, chronologically. I am going to read at least 30 books, some fiction and some spiritually challenging. You both have nice Bibles now. I am commited to having a guided quiet time with each of you every day, fostering you into a life centered in Christ. We will continue memorizing scripture, hiding His Word in our hearts.
My children, what a blessing you both are. You are wonderfully made by a creative Creator. May you know Him intimately and live a life that pleases Him...I pray our family lives out a bold testimony and brings much Glory to God in 2012!
I love you both,
Mama

Christmas 2011, Part 1

Is there anything cuter than kids in Christmas PJs?!?
I don't think so!!!

We celebrated Christmas all around the state of AL and even in TN!
Here are the kids with Eric's grandmother and their cousins!

Reagan got a travel game, perfect for our many December travels!

Alex got some huge posters and markers!

We returned home from a Saturday of travel and made a gingerbread house as a family! The kids really enjoyed this activity (the building and the eating)!

Stay tuned for more...we had such a MERRY Christmas, but blogger is still only letting me add 5 photos to each post!
