Alexander Funny...
I have enjoyed some time alone with Alexander the past few days, when he wasn't at the theater for the play! I have to tell you, that is one funny kid!!!
One night, we were looking at a Kellys Kids spring and summer catalog and a little boy had on an outfit with the name Hite monogrammed onto it. I questioned it as a name, although I love unique ones, and said it sounded like a last name. He agreed! Then I said, "But you don't have your last name stitched on your clothes, unless you are...(I paused to hiccup or swallow, planning to say trying to save money and let all your kids wear it, but in the pause, he finished my sentence with "BRITISH"!)
And he was serious...
"you don't get your last name monogrammed on your clothes unless you are BRITISH"?!?!?!?! What in the world?!?!?!
Eric and I laughed until we could hardly breathe...
where does he come up with this stuff??
Gotta love him!!!!

Alexander is in his first Children's Theater play with the Demopolis Canebrake Players! The play is Hansel and Gretel and he is a sandman's apprentice. His one line is a chant as he sprinkles sand to help Hansel and Gretel fall asleep so they don't lose the way in the forest! He has had such fun and we are so proud!
Here he is all made up for the stage...unfair eyelashes!!!
On the stage with the other apprentice, the sandman, and Mother Nature (his future wife)!
In full costume for dress rehearsal!
Here he is at curtain call...so happy!

Thanksgiving 09
We were able to get away with family for Thanksgiving. We spent a beautiful week in the Pigeon Forge, TN area. I must say our kids traveled so well for so many hours and were a joy to be with, away from it all for a week!
I was so content with no cell phone or computer access and really enjoyed family!
Here are a few of my favorite pics from the week...

Super Sunday...
Today at our church, we had "Dress for Success" day for the men and boys, complete with an all male choir! We had some good laughs as Eric attempted to wear his suit after a 30+ pound weight loss...not happenin! He went with a nice shirt and coordinating tie and Alexander wanted in on the fun! After he attempted to wear a necktie from his dress up box, claiming it matched his pants with its "golden khaki" color, we found and talked him into an Eeyore tie from Eric's collection and he was SO proud!!!
In the meantime, it took us twenty minutes to figure out what "bear pants" he wished he were wearing. I told him several times that I didn't know what he meant but that they sounded like casual pants for after church this afternoon. He held to his story, describing in great detail the bear book the pants match...zoo, elephants, etc. Have you figured it out yet??

CORDUROY!!!! HA!!!
We have the book Corduroy Visits the Zoo!
When we FINALLY figured it out, we had a great laugh at his creativity and our, well, stupidity!
Unfortuately, Reagan has had a yucky asthma weekend so we are home today! But she is my fashionista and chose her own coordinating wardrobe today. HA! Never dull, even when she is sick!
Praise be to God that she did drink a small cup of milk this morning AND ate some crackers! We have gotten two doses of steroid in her system without her vomiting, so we should be improving steadily starting TODAY!

She prayed, "Jesus, make me feel better so my mouth will stop playing the drums!" I guess that means coughing...no clue...but it was a sweet prayer and we believe in the power of prayer!
HAPPY SUPER SUNDAY EVERYONE!!!

Its bragging day again!!!
This handsome young man took the recent home changes in stride and went to bed in a shared room without a moment's trouble!!!
He also makes teaching such a joy...he absorbs new information so easily and persists until he masters a new skill! I am so proud to be his teacher!!
Now, to lock the doors before any females come to look into those baby blues!!
This pretty little lady is keeping her panties dry consistently and sleeping all night in a twin bed without a fuss! She can also dress and undress completely independently now and loves to change clothes often! Dress up box, here we come!!!
Alexander has mastered the use of a Windex spray bottle and is keeping the hall bathroom sparkly clean for me each morning!
Reagan is learning to sort so well and helping me put away clean clothes each evening!
Mama loves her helpers!!

UPDATE UPDATE!
I got a bee in my bonnet and made some changes around our house this weekend!
We have lots of toys we weren't enjoying simply because they were scattered (and many we had outgrown that met fate also)!
SO........
Alexander and Reagan now share a room, just for dressing and sleeping!
It is so minimal I could not be happier...just clothes storage and beds!
Much easier to rest and sleep in a clutter-free space anyway!
Reagan moved in Friday at naptime and has slept very well in her big girl bed!!!
Plans for the month of December include a coat of neutral khaki paint,
as well as some special bedding for each! Simple but super functional!

So, what happened to the nursery, you ask?!?!
Well, Eric took down the crib Friday night...and I sat in the floor and cried
(I mean sobbed and sobbed--how out of character!) about the growing up. I am not positive if there will be more babies in this home permanently, but I sure hope so because I did not relish things with Reagan as if they were my last time to do them!
ANYWAY...I am crying no more...because I am in LOVE with this toy room!!!
We have so much space to play freely and everything is so naturally organized for hours of enjoyment! More pics to come, as I am turning the "grandpa" into an educational dream cabinet, complete with all of our learning fun for all ages!
Plans for the NEAR future include taking Reagan's name letters off the wall and using a simple monkey motif to compliment the existing green paint!
WHY monkeys?? Because we are gonna monkey around til we drop!!!
We are gonna enjoy this space to the fullest, beginning ASAP!
It was hard work for sure...but well worth it!
A great purging of many things and a great organizing of what is leftover!
We hope to share some playtime with each of you soon!!!

Terrific Tuesday...
I have decided to start a few trends on my blog to keep it interesting! I am planning to print a blog book starting now, for my children to see and hold.
So, Terrific Tuesdays will be used to brag on my kids!!!

Alexander, our self-proclaimed rock star, is growing up so much!
He has recently...
memorized the books of the OT from Genesis to Song of Solomon,
begun to read chapter books,
learned addition doubles, +0 +1 and +2 facts 0-9,
developed a true thoughtfulness,
mastered an independent morning and evening routine,
and secured his first role on stage in Canebrake Children's Theater's Hansel and Gretel!

Reagan, better known as Larry Boy, is growing up much too quickly also!
Most recently she is...
obsessed with uvulas and looking for them in a mouth near you,
showing an interest in reading and crying because she can't (no pressure!),
planning her 3rd bday party daily, well in advance,
saying sweet prayers independently,
improving at using the potty,
and cutting all four 2 year molars at once!
There is never a dull moment around here...these are two fun kids who enjoy life to the fullest and keep us laughing hysterically most of the time!!!

Halloween Was Super Fun!!!
Our Halloween and Halloween Eve fun included decorating and baking jack-o-lantern cookies, attending the WAC and Fairhaven Fall Festivals, and trick-or-treating on our block! We had such fun!
(And excuse the pink cap...its part of everyday life right now, including sleeping. She actually cried tears about us saying no to wearing it with costume today! HA!)

Costume Preview...
Jon Daniel's dear sweet mommy met us at the park last week and took some great shots of the kids in costume with her fancy digital camera!
Here is a preview of the light up ninja and ladybug in action!!!

She also took some fall photos of Alexander alone since most of our portraits done were of Reagan alone. He knows Mrs. Lisa well and had fun just playing at the park...here is a sneak preview of those...more to come in slide show format when I take time!
