Belated Bday Post--Super Mario 8-up

Alexander's 8th Birthday was so much fun, if I do say so myself.
We kept decorations simple, had homemade cupcakes, and dressed casual!
The party included lots of family, great friends, and super cool games.

We enjoyed yummy treats and sang to the birthday boy. Cannot believe he is EIGHT already!!!

We had Mario vs. Luigi scooter races around a cone course. Eric made them ride "correctly" and it was much more challenging. All other kiddos served as cheerleaders!

Each child (and Aunt Rach) became Yoshi and tried to knock the cup over with the yoshi tongue as many times as possible in one minute. So funny to watch!

We also played Mario musical chairs. The kids had wild fun with that one!

I made the party favor boxes and thought they turned out so cute!
Inside were Chicklet gum, Mario fruit snacks, and some bubbles.

Alexander opened all his gifts and we had some great laughs.
I tried something new this year. He drew a name from a bowl and that person (kid or adult) got his/her present from the table and sat by Alex for a picture and while he opened the gift. We are including the pics in each thank you note.

Fun was had by all!!! Don't want 8 to fly by but know it will be full of fun!!!

JUNE IN PICS

We really have NOT stopped for the entire month of June...WHEW!
Here are some highlights of our fun.
I will try not to stay away so long from now on!!!

Alex caught a big bass all by himself! Reeled it in and everything!

The doggies got their own pool, but Cletus is afraid of it!

Reagan spent some long hours in the ER with a nasty virus and UTI.

We had a wonderful week of VBS, always a highlight of our summer.

Alex turned EIGHT! But that's a whole 'nother blog post in the making!

Reagan took swimming lessons and is now a FISH, jumping in and swimming under water without floaties! Money WELL spent!

Our caterpillars came by mail...

spun cocoons about a week and a half later...

and emerged one by one as BEAUTIFUL Painted Lady butterflies!

July promises just as much fun...stick around!!!
