Both of our kiddos had annual eye dr appts in April. Last year, Alex began wearing glasses full time and Reagan was prescribed glasses for reading/watching TV. This year, Alex needed a stronger prescription and had some requests...transition lenses in his everyday glasses because he cannot wear sunglasses and see well, and sports glasses so he can play soccer and flag football without worrying they'll be broken. Reagan still only needs her glasses part time, but was thrilled to choose a new pair. My kids look so much older. Oh, the mixed emotions! So thankful for good insurance coverage, too! :)

New Life
New life in Spring makes it so easy to talk about Jesus and salvation. At home, we have planted seeds, the beginning of our first attempt at urban container gardening. I spent time with each child, individually, as they cut labels and gave our seeds a strong start. The conversation about planting seeds, watering, weeding and waiting for a harvest was rich! And we are in this church planting journey as a family, so our children are being equipped to share the gospel alongside us!
One of our iceberg lettuce seed containers has two tiny sprouts already! As we wait for these to develop and grow and produce veggies and herbs, we also must tend and work for the harvest, yet God is ultimately in control! I love the imagery and spiritual teaching wrapped up in it all!
We also ordered ladybug larvae. We will watch and wait for them to grow and change as well. The molting and life cycle process is so closely tied to our spiritual lives as well!
I really love how easy it is to talk about God and the truths of His Word as new life arrives in Spring! Praying He will help me use each teachable moment to bring Him glory, knowing my children reap eternal benefit from those "seeds" of knowledge and experience!

Pretty Pets
Moving pets to Denver was no trouble at all! Can you believe that our fish, Citrus and Stripe, were unexpected prizes at a church fall festival Oct 2012 and are still swimming?!? Hahaha
Both fish, as well as Mollie and Lilly, are enjoying our new home! Lots to explore and tons of natural light all day! What more could they ask for?!?
Kids on Wheels
Alex was given a pair of roller blades for Christmas, from Aunt Rach and Uncle Eric. Then Reagan was given a pair for her birthday, by Slash and Mimi. Both have picked up this new skill so quickly and they are building speed and confidence! So much fun in our new, mostly flat neighborhood, of many sidewalks and open spaces!!
Candy Science
Several weeks ago, we checked out a "Candy Science" book from the public library, to combine some homeschool requirements with using leftover candy stashes! The experiments were simple, but really fun, and some had surprising results!

Paradise Farm
Another thing these crazy kiddos love?!? Running free on Paradise Farm, time with Noni and Papa Jack, and cousin fun!!
Lots of baking, laughing, golf cart adventures, and running free! We also enjoyed a super fun night at Santa's Village...what a fun treat!! Thank you, Noni and Papa Jack and Aunt Carla and Uncle Mark for hosting us!!
McWane is a Must!
Both of our kiddos enjoy the McWane Center SO much! It is just a must-stop if time allows during a visit to AL! It's been a while since we could go, so it was super fun! How could a day with Slash and Mimi not be fun?!?
November Travel
The kids and I went to Alabama for Thanksgiving and extended our stay into early December so we could see as many family members and friends as possible...
One of our pilots let Alex and Reagan sit in his seat and pretend to fly our plane! What a fun treat!
