I am so proud of both of my children...this week, for two totally different reasons!
Thursday was Veteran's Day and our students were out of school, so we had a community wide youth mission day. Youth from four different area churches of different denominations worked together to sort clothes for one church to distribute, plus cleaned up yards of widows. I wanted to participate and took Alex along with me. He was so excited the night before and he bounced up raring to go Thursday morning! Before hand, he was excited mostly about being included in a day planned for middle and high school students. Once we arrived, though, he worked with such a joyful heart and worked so hard for HOURS! He never complained once, just kept asking what else he could do! I definitely saw the light of Christ shining in him all day!!! That warmed this Mama's heart a whole lot!

He loved carrying the bags to the pile by the road, so the students made the drawstring ties into backpack straps to help him be successful! HA!!!
Alex got a chance to go to a class for homeschoolers at the Birmingham Zoo Friday. While he was in class from 9am - 2pm, Mama and I took Reagan thru the zoo.
She had her heart set on seeing zebras and elephants, but all the African animals were gone until the new exhibit is ready in Spring 2011. She maintained such a good attitude about not being able to see that part of the zoo, even though I know it was disappointing! I was so proud of her for that and we had a BLAST!
She also was super brave and fed the lorikeets. They came right to her and drank the nectar from her cup. She was so funny talking to them...wish I had videoed it! Enjoy the photos..I was so proud of her for trying something brand new!

Both of my "Hollywood" cuties are sure something to be proud of!
Thanks be to God!!!

What a sweet young man! And I love the pictures of Reagan with the Lorakeets. ha! too cute!!
God has truly blessed us with two loving grandchildren. They both seem to be sensitive to the needs of others, humans and animals. I am so grateful that Alexander was included in the youth activity. They don't realize what an influence they are having on his life. I am so thankful for the youth who continue to reach out to others as Reagan and Alexander watch their reactions.
