Our Fall Decor

A friend's blog was about her fall decorations at her house and it motivated me to photograph our decor! I love making all holidays cute and fun for the kids and fall is no exception! I try to stick mostly with things that can stay out through Thanksgiving, but do have a few Jack-O-Lanterns that will be put away sooner!

Above the mantel, I just added a few simple pie pumpkins for color!
This little scarecrow always sits on our hearth!

Each year, the kids paint or color my kitchen table centerpieces.
The painted pumpkin was done a couple of years ago by Alex and the scarecrows are new for this year...a girl and a boy, purchased by my Mama! We always have festive napkins, too!

This is our art cabinet in our kitchen. I added some leaves and pumpkins I have had for several years, plus a scarecrow I got a few years back from Big Lots. Working this weekend to change the photos out to previous Halloween costumes of our kids...thought that would be a cute touch!

This is the top of our den TV/video wardrobe. I just added a simple Dollar General wooden jack-o-lantern display that used to be in my classroom when I taught full-time!

This cat was given to me last Halloween by a sweet friend! The kids chose to put her in the hallway between their bedroom and the bathroom!

Since painting the kids' shared bedroom this summer, I have not found curtains I like! So they just have a naked window. I decided to add this wooden garland my mother-in-law sent to the kids last year! Used it in the kitchen last year, but thought it dressed up the bedroom window a bit for this month!

Alex chose to put this electric jack-o-lantern on his chest of drawers for our fish, Hawaii, to enjoy! Her behavior when it is lit is so bizarre and we enjoy watching her!

I purchased this new this year at our Dirt Cheap store for 25 cents! Cute on the kids' bedroom door and the price made it a must-have!!!

This year, I put this electric bear in the kids'/guest bathroom. It used to be in my classroom when I taught, as well. This little scarecrow has been on the dining room buffet in the past, but we spend very little time in there these days, so I moved it to the bathroom hair-do basket!
I also got several hand towels at Dirt Cheap for 15 cents each and I swap them out often in the kids'/guest bathroom!

Outside, I have a Wal Mart scarecrow in front of our large window. The kids love to stop and chat with him. He has endured several years in different spots outside!
And I love to decorate my kids for the season, too. This is one of Reagan's cute fall outfits!

I also have stakes in several of my potted plants. This is one where our driveway meets our sidewalk to the front door. I have front door decor, including a small inflatable, but I use it for photos of the kids each year to show how they grow, so that is another post in and of itself!

And last, but certainly not least...my favorite decoration of all! A Kirkland's find from a few years ago. I saw it at someone's home out of town and sent my mama on a wild goose chase and ended up getting it 50% off. You put water in the bottom of this ceramic jack-o-lantern and plug it in. Mist comes from his mouth while the light inside changes colors! Big hit with kids!!!

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!
